بیشترI put my M77 Mk2 .300 Win Mag on a diet a few years ago. New barrel contoured to about a #2 at 24". Brown Precision stock. I milled off extra metal on the action, lengthened the magazine to 3.6" and set the trigger to 2.5#. With a Swaro Z3 scope it weighs 7.5lbs loaded. The barrel swap alone cut nearly a pound off of it. بیشترAug 25, 2012. #1. Ruger Model 77 are great rifles for their intended purposes. One of the most accurate rifles I ever owned was a m-77 in 220 Swift. I get calls weekly asking for me to rebarrel a Ruger model 77. The callers generally say they can not find any gunsmiths to rebarrel their M-77 Ruger. I have been told the Ruger model 77s are ...

بیشترYes, the .300 RUM will probably eat up a barrel faster than a .300 Win. In a re-barrel job with an older M77, pre MKII, be aware that the head size of a belted .300 Win Mag, 7mm SAUM, or 7mm/300 WSM case is bigger than that of a .270 Win, this with the plunger type ejector on the older push feed M77's, makes a conversion from .270 Win …

بیشتر448. I have the mid 80's M77 UL with a 18.5" barrel in .270. Not a tack driver by no means. I've tried several different loads and your lucky to get 1.5" @100yards. I've killed lots of deer with it, but it is just a chore to check zero. Also missed several deer, but I contribute that to the shooter.

بیشترI bought my first 300 win mag back in 2001 after my coworker, who had an incredible shooting range built at his home, convinced me it was the new caliber that I needed to have. بیشتر386 posts · Joined 2010. #1 · Nov 21, 2011. I have a Ruger mk2 m77 .270 stainless barrel, with the skeleton stock on its way to my dealer, and was wanting to order some sierra match kings. Sierra's site said that my twist should be 1-7, or 1-8 for this 135 grain bullet. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the twist rate on this gun.
بیشترAs far as Reloder 26, I have not used it in the .270 but I have in a few other cartridges, I use it in my .260 AI, and a couple 7mm rem mags with outstanding performance. I have heard several reports of people getting 3000 fps in the .270 with the Berger 150's and Reloder 26 in 24" barrels. In my experience, it is not very temp …
بیشترI have a 44 carbine that I love, I had a Blackhawk (3 screw model) that was a sweet pistol. I had the LH M77MkII in 30-06. It was a accurate rifle outta the box, I like the 3 position safety, i have never liked tang safeties on a rifle, they're for shotguns! And my next rifle is also a Ruger M77 Mk II just in 25-06.

بیشترRe: Is it worth it to accurize a Ruger M77? I had a 35 year old Ruger 77 in 270. Wonderfully accurate deer rifle. But with the sporter weight barrel, not good for a 30 round match. Barrel contour is very improtant. So if your 77 does not already have a heavy barrel you are looking at replaceing it which is not good for a budget.
بیشترAccordingly, offerings such as .25-06 Rem., .270 Win., 7 mm Rem. Mag. and .30-'06 Sprg. were added to the roster, surely making the Ruger far more competitive in big-game circles.

بیشترSenior Member. Join Date: February 13, 2006. Location: Washington state. Posts: 15,242. I have owned several Rugers over the years. In 1991 I bought a Ruger 77 Mark II in 243 that shot 5/8" consistently. Rugers used to be pretty bad in the 80s'. In the early 90's they switched to hammer-forged barrels and the accuracy improved dramatically.
بیشترAny quality hunting rifle, which the MkII M77 is, should be capable of shooting three shot groups with factory hunting ammo into 1 1/2" @ 100 yards, but that assumes good sights and shooter. بیشترThe 270 with that light barrel throws shots around after the third shot and was never that great of a grouper. I've been considering switching it to a 6.5 cm as that would be a better 400 yard and less walk around gun not to mention I think the 6.5 makes a better 20" barreled gun that a 270.
